Reflection:

This was such a great experience for me. I joined SAAB (Student African American Brotherhood) in 2011, and I've grown so much since then. The reason this experience specifically was special, because I have grown and develop so much since the beginning of m membership. This event was a mixer and a conference for all members of SAAB in southern CA. Some members were undergraduate students, grad students, and Professionals from across various fields. This mixer helped to raise awareness and engage all the young men to make a true commitment to succeeding academically. Members that are connect to the national organization build relationships and how each other accountable for developing  great academic habits, and finishing school. A motto used frequently though out the conference is "I am my brothers keeper, and together we will rise." SAAB is a movement that ensures that graduation rates of men of color increase and students feel connected and supported.
